Welcome to the Ministries Page

Our Mission at Providence UMC is to make committed disciples of Christ and to share God's love in the community. The ministries of our church serve to accomplish our mission by serving the physical and spiritual needs of its members and preparing and equipping them for service in the world. The ministries of the church are overseen by a Council on Ministries, co-chaired by Stan and Connie Cotton. Council members lead committees in the following areas: 

Worship - The worship committee facilitates the worship experience. Responsibilities include everything from bulletins to ushers to preparation for the sacraments of the church. Chair: Joan Symes

Music - The music committee is responsible for selection of hymns and special music to enhance the worship experience. Chair: Rhonda Woodson

Missions -  Missions is a vital part of our church and all members are encouraged to be a part of the committee. more Chair: Clark Ratcliffe

Evangelism/Outreach - Makes contact with first time guests who provide contact information in the registration pads. Guests receive a phone call and a personal visit. Guests are provided with information about the history and mission of the church. The committee also works to help assimilate new members into the life and mission of the church. Chair: Vacant

Education/ Sunday School - Provides small group Christian education opportunities through graded Sunday School classes for all ages as well as weekly bible study groups. Organizes a Vacation Bible School for children durring the summer. Chair: Becky Wolf

United Methodist Men - Provides opportunities for fellowship and spiritual growth to the men of the church. Chair: Billy Mason

Women's Ministries - Provides opportunities for fellowship and spiritual growth to the women of the church. Chair: Vacant

UMYF -  Young people are an active and vital part of the membership at Providence. Our youth serve on committees, work in Church mission projects, sing in choir, accompany the choir and congregation on piano, read scripture, help serve communion and even preach on occasion. more Chair: Thom Dumas

Children's Ministries - Our children are a joy, and are cherished by the whole congregation. more Chair: Mary Ann Napper

Family Ministries - Provides opportunities for fun, fellowship and spiritual growth to family groups in the church.  Co-chairs:Tom and Cynthia Brasher

Congregational Care - Provides food, assistance and spiritual uplift to sick and bereaved members of the congregation. Chair: Sharon Hancock

Stewardship - Encourages members to share their time their talents their gifts and their service. Chair: John Stewart

Prayer Ministry - Coordinates the intercessory prayer efforts of the congregation by managing and distributing the prayer list to all members. Chair: Joanne Wermuth
