SPANISH FORT, Ala. - Providence United Methodist Church invites the community to experience Holy Week with a variety of services at the Spanish Fort church.

Holy Week begins with a Palm Sunday worship service on Sunday, March 16, at 10 a.m. Sunday School begins at 9 a.m. at the church.
A Seder meal and Holy Communion will be celebrated Wednesday, March 19, at 6 p.m.
"We will celebrate the traditional Jewish Seder as Jesus and his disciples did in the upper room for their last meal together and experience how Jesus changed the meaning of the symbols of bread and wine," Sweet said. "We will be recreating the first communion in a very special service."
The Good Friday service at 6 p.m. on Friday, March 21, will be a solemn remembrance of the sacrifice on the cross, held in a darkened sanctuary with violin and viola accompaniment.
The celebration of a risen Savior will be held on Easter Sunday, March 23, at 10 a.m. Sunday School will be held at 9 a.m.
"We invite the community to worship with the congregation of Providence United Methodist Church during this most holy of weeks," Sweet said.
