Providence United Methodist Church in Spanish Fort will kick off its "Mid-Week" activities Aug. 13 with a talk by Hiram Johnson, ordained United Methodist pastor and counselor at Cross Way Counseling Center in Daphne, Ala.
SPANISH FORT, Ala. – Providence United Methodist Church in Spanish Fort will kick off its "Mid-Week" activities Aug. 13 with a talk by Hiram Johnson, ordained United Methodist pastor and counselor at Cross Way Counseling Center in Daphne, Ala.
Johnson is author of "Tragic Redemption: Healing the Guilt and Shame." The book describes the depression, despair, guilt and shame he suffered following a tragic car accident in which a young woman was killed, and his step-by-step process of healing from emotional and spiritual pain.
Mid-Week is held each Wednesday and includes a family fellowship meal, children's activities and choir practice, youth "reCharge" study, adult study, and adult choir practice.
Dinner is served from 5:15-6 p.m. at the church at 9543 Stagecoach Road in Spanish Fort. Dinner is $6 per person or $20 for a family of four or more. Reservations should be made each week the Monday prior to the event by calling 929-2832 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Johnson will speak during the adult study from 6:05 to 7 p.m. A nursery is provided. Children's activities include indoor Olympics and a focus on Corinthians 9:24-27. The youth "reCharge" Bible study titled "Ashes" will focus on the book of Job.
Adult choir practice begins at 7 p.m.
