John's Class (for adults of all ages) will be starting Kay Arthur's study, "A Marriage Without Regrets" on Sunday, April 28th at 9 am in Room 1. We'll be using the study guide (not the full book) over the next couple of months. Please join us!

Sunday evening activities for children are from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. and begin with a snack supper. Elementary children meet with Ms. Mary Ann for Bible study, choir, and recreation. Preschool children meet with Ms. Vicky for Bible stories, music, and crafts.

This is a weekly event; however, the children will NOT meet on Easter Sunday.

The Bible Buddies meet every Tuesday at 9:30 - 11:00 a.m.

We will be on summer break until school resumes in August 2013. We will be finishing the Book of John.

The worship committee is planning another Lenten devotion booklet and needs your help. This year Lent begins in early February, so time is short. Please take a minute and write a short devotion, just a few lines, a scripture passage and a simple prayer. Email your devotion to Joan Symes. This opportunity is open for adults, youth and children.

From the recent inexplicable tragedy at Newton, Connecticut many questions arise. Our faith in God and in our humanity is tested. We ask questions as we seek meaning in what occurred. How can a loving God allow this to happen? Is God in control? Is there a reason for everything. I preach on these questions periodically – but feel called – in light of recent events to hold a study during the Sunday School hour where we can journey together and address those questions.

This four week study will begin January 6th at 9:00 a.m. in classroom 3. I will be using Adam Hamilton’s book entitled WHY? Making Sense of God’s Will as the basis for this study. All are invited. Mark your calendars for Providence's second annual trunk or treat! 

Fabulous fall fun awaits the whole family at Providence United Methodist's second annual Trunk or Treat, Sunday, October 28 from 4-6 p.m. 

Kids dressed in their Halloween finery can safely trick or treat in the Church’s parking lot from trunks and truck beds. Families can also go batty with: horse rides, cotton candy, pumpkin painting, a cupcake walk, and other fun activities! There will be a cookout with hotdogs and hamburgers.

All activities are free, open to the community, and will be at Providence United Methodist Church in Spanish Fort.

The entire Church will focus on the book of Daniel in Sunday School at 9 am & in Worship at 10 am. The focus begins on Sunday, September 9 and continues through the end of September. 

Children & youth will be doing a 4-week study on Daniel following Billy Graham's "Dare to be a Daniel" program.

Adult classes will also be studying Daniel as follows:

John's Class has decided to take the Daniel study deeper and we will be using the Beth Moore Study on the book of Daniel starting on September 9. The first 6 sessions from Daniel 1 - 6 deal with Daniel's life as he faced the pressures and temptations Christians encounter today. The second 6 sessions Daniel 7 - 12 explores prophecies from the time of Daniel through the second coming of Christ. This is a class for adults of all ages and meets at 9 a.m. in Room 1.

The Prime Timers: They will be doing a six-week study on Daniel by John Ortberg. "If you long to meet God in the challenging times and come through the fire stronger and more faithful, Daniel is ready to show the way." Meets in Room 3.

Many of you have shown interest in going to Camp Quarternote at Blue 
Lake this summer.  Rosanne Junkins contacted the program director Keron 
Kyzar about availability.  Keron said as long as registration and fees 
are in by the end of March, slots should be available.  Lets shoot for 
having everything in by Sunday March 13th so it can be mailed on the 
14th just to be on the safe side. Registration forms are on the table in

A Youth & Family Christmas on December 2nd at PUMC- Bring the whole family to the Youth Christmas Party!

Come on up to the church around 3:30 pm and have some fun when we make a trip to the bowling alley up at the Eastern Shore Center where you can bowl (obviously), play laser tag and get $10 in credit at the arcade. Afterwards come back to PUMC to feast on a fried chicken dinner with all the fixin's, maybe decorate a gingerbread house, and play some Christmas games. Encourage your youth to invite their friends. (I'll pay the way of any friends that the youth invite.)

Join us for an authentic Costa Rican meal after the Worship Service on November 4. You'll have a chance to meet our mission team's Costa Rican contact, Kattia Meoño Soto! Donations will be accepted and will help fund youth mission trips!

Join us for fellowship and crafting on Thursday, December 6 at 9 a.m.

We are gearing up to make t-shirt dresses, pillowcase sundresses, and boy's shorts for the mission team to take to Costa Rica at the beginning of March. I will bring a tutorial for making the t-shirt dresses and a pattern & tutorial for simple shorts. I also have many t-shirts that I found for only $1 each if you'd like to purchase one to make a dress. We will also need to pick a couple of dates for church-wide sewing get-togethers in January and February. Dresses need to be finished by mid-February so they can be blessed during a Worship Service. 

Throughout the year, we've also been making (sewing, knitting, or crocheting) prayer blankets and prayer shawls as well as items for premature infants in USA Women & Children's NICU.
